Jacqueline Shim Bryant

Career summary:

Jackie practiced real estate law for 24 years before retiring in late 2013. She has co-authored the IICLE volume of “Condominium Law” and is a member of the Asian-American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.

 

 

Community/volunteer commitments:

An active alumna of Northwestern University, Jackie currently serves of the board of directors of the WEAA (past president); board member of the Northwestern School of Communications National Advisory Board; executive committee and board member of the Pritzker School of Law at Northwestern University; and Membership chair of the Council of 100 (for which she was a founding member 30 years ago).

She has previously served on Northwestern University’s Board of Trustees, director of the John Evans Club, director of the Northwestern Alumni Association (NAA), co-chair of her reunions in 2010, 2015 and 2020, and alumni admissions council interviewer. She has worked as a volunteer in development for Northwestern University capital campaigns.

In the community, Jackie has been involved in the past on the boards of the St. Chrysostom’s Day School, The Latin School of Chicago Parent Association, Porchlight Music Theatre, Menomonee Club for Boys and Girls, the Woman’s Athletic Club, and Impact 100 Indian River Shores.  She has been active with Impact Grants Chicago, the Court Theatre Gala committee and the John’s Island Foundation, and has provided guidance to charitable institutions in strategic planning.

Interests:

Jackie sings second soprano with The Wacquettes and with the St. Chrysostom’s parish choir.  Jackie’s husband, Tim, is a Northwestern alum, as are two of her three children.  She is a quilter.
